A Return to the Wide World of Solid Foods...but Not *Quite* Yet.

Last time around I started solid foods with Cole right at 4 months...November 16th of 2009 (I'm a stickler for timing, ok?)  Unfortunately it was a pretty comical attempt as he still had the tongue thrust reflex, not to mention a severe hatred for rice cereal (can you blame him?)  We quickly moved on to oatmeal with some moderate success around 5 months but only combined with apple, and then tried vegetables - big negative.  Fruit was last and of course was loved by Cole, but by this point he was 6 months old.  I swore that the next time around I would be delaying solids until at least 6 months, mostly for convenience sake, but also because research indicates that breastfed babies technically do not need anything else for the first 12 months.

I have been seeing some excellent additions to the baby food options that were around when Cole was a little one.  We loved the pouch purees and pretty much lived on those alone.  Here are a few things on my list for Vera beginning January 5th of next year...
